Kevin at the young age of 33 is a devoted husband, father, brother, son, and firefighter/paramedic. He was diagnosed with inoperable end stage pancreatic cancer in late April 2010. Kevin had none of the risk factors: no family history, not a smoker or heavy drinker, not diabetic and about thirty years younger than the most affected age group. Since the diagnosis Kevin has been unable to perform his dream job of fighting fires and saving lives. He has since been putting all his time and energy into his treatments, his family and friends, and his efforts to educate others on the potential lifestyle and career hazards associated with pancreatic cancer.

Kevin and his wife, Katie, were high school sweethearts and now have two beautiful daughters under the age of four. He is always a great example of what a husband, father and friend should be. Always putting his family and friends first is the way Kevin lives his life.

If you get to know him, you will find that Kevin has a passion for people and life. He is always inviting friends, old and new, to join him in the things that bring him joy. He has never been one to shy away from conversations of faith, debates over music or seasonal tactics for fishing. He, without knowing, gives outwardly and uses his talents to teach and enlighten others in the things that he loves.

For the past six months in between his own treatments, Kevin has been traveling across the country with Code 3 For A Cure. This foundation raises awareness for firefighters of the risks of cancer associated with their job and helps others who have been diagnosed.

Working with Code 3 For A Cure afforded Kevin the opportunity to see how his experiences were able to touch the lives of others in a positive way and he was inspired to do more. While Mo-hawk Less Cancer was originally an idea meant to help Kevin and his family in a time of need, it has evolved into a way for Kevin to continue to inspire, educate and give back to others.
