Mo-Hawk Less Cancer started as a fundraiser for Kevin Oldham and his family hosted by his fellow firefighters. In true Kevin fashion, he found a way to incorporate his favorite hairstyle, great live music, and a performance with his band. Kevin dubbed it the Mo-Hawk Less Cancer Oldham Jam.

The Mo-Hawk Less Cancer Oldham Jam was a huge success which really moved and humbled Kevin and his family. In a way to express their gratitude the Oldham family decided to continue the Mo-Hawk Less Cancer name, turning it into an organization capable of continuing to give back. Having received help in their time of need inspired them to find ways to reach out to others in similar situations.

While the Oldham family continues to rely on the generous financial support of others in this time of need, it is of utmost importance to them to be able to help those in need as well. The Mo-Hawk Less Cancer “GIVES BACK” Oldham Jam (April 10, 2011 at Sundance Saloon, Waukegan, IL) will grant a family vacation to a child with a potentially terminal illness. All donations to the “GIVES BACK” Jam mission that exceed the vacation goal will be given to the family to help with the continued expenses related to the child’s care. Website donations can be made specifically to fund the “GIVES BACK” Jam mission or the continuing needs of the Oldham family.

Mo-Hawk Less Cancer is still dedicated to fighting the war on pancreatic cancer by raising awareness and funding for much needed research. At the conclusion of the “GIVES BACK” Jam, any future donations to the site will be forwarded to select nonprofit cancer research and awareness organizations in the Mo-Hawk Less Cancer name.
